We Have Arrived in Iceland

The 98's met at the airport at 6am Wednesday morning to board a flight for Boston. After a short layover in Boston and another 5 hour flight, the girls finally arrived in Iceland at 11:30 pm (7:30 pm EDT). The girls then had a short bus ride to the Breidblik club facilities where they were met by their homestay families. The families traveling with the group were dropped off at the Foss hotel in Reykjavik.

The ride from the airport gave everyone a preview of the landscape - glaciers, snow capped mountains and lava fields. During the summer months, Iceland experiences the "midnight sun".

The sun sets around midnight and rises before 3:00am. Because the sunrise occurs a couple of hours after sunset, it is still bright outside after the sun sets.

For one lucky traveler, it was her first plane experience! Congrats Cici!
